The CSIT and the IFBT have signed an agreement to include beach tennis as a new sport in the CSIT.
The CSIT and the IFBT have signed an agreement to include beach tennis as a new sport in the International Workers and Amateurs in Sports Confederation.
CSIT's (Confédération Sportive Internationale Travailliste et Amateur) world congress in Lignano (Italy) gathered CSIT's Chair, Harald Bauer, and both IFBT Chair and Deputy Chair, Giandomenico Bellettini and Joan Egea, to sign a joint agreement to promote beach tennis and upgrade it to a new sport discipline. Members of the federation also agreed to promote it worldwide.
The next international event will take place in Lignano (Italy) in June 2015. More than 12.000 athletes are expected to compete in all 38 disciplines which will also include beach tennis (www.csit.tv)
Joan Egea will co-ordinate CSIT's beach tennis and will also collaborate with organizing and devising rules and regulations to be followed by this sport in all CSIT tournaments.
CSIT is an international organization based in Austria and founded in 1913. Every two years CSIT organizes the World Sport Games along with other supporting organizations from all around the world and with thousands of competing athletes.
