Beach Tennis Arrives in Playa Del Carmen
IFBT Mexico successfully held the Senor Frogs International Tournament (Open-1). The stage was set in Playa del Carmen, the third largest city in Quintana Roo (Mexico), after Cancun and Chetumal. The Caribbean tourist city hosted for the first time, an international tournament of Beach Tennis. The official sponsor, Senor Frogs, has already confirmed that it will continue to collaborate with IFBT Mexico.
This sport, in a period of growth and expansion, is becoming popular for all beaches in Central America. The tropical climate favors the practice and development of the sport Beach Tennis.
In this first edition of Senor Frogs $700 they were distributed among the winners of the tournament. The Mexican team of Wilson Arceo and Mauricio d'Argence were the champions in the finals against Jony Baños and Raul Rosas. In third place were the team of Mariano Errecalde and Jorge Molina.
The next tournament of the International Beach Tennis Federation (IFBT) is on September 5-6, Trophy Fiorellini (Open-2). Two weeks later, on September 18-20, two very important tournaments will take place on the international calendar. On one side of the world, in Mexico, will be the 4th annual Cancun World Cup (WCT). In Italy, on the same dates will be the 5th edition of the European Beach Tennis Championships (CONT), on the beach of Muravera, Sicily (Italy). The tour then continues on the beaches of Clearwater, Florida, with the Sands Key Open with $5,000 in prize money, on September 25-27.
